INTRODUCE YOUR STUDENTS TO THE MUSIC
AND THE MUSIC-MAKERS THAT CHANGED THE WORLD…

Million Dollar Quartet provides an opportunity for students to discover and discuss how rock ‘n’ roll influenced and defined a generation and how music continues to affect the way we feel, think and act, providing a unique form of communication that can motivate and inspire us all.

In 1956 four boys from Memphis were giving American teenagers a first taste of self-expression and rebellion. Discovered by Sun Records’ founder Sam Phillips – known as “the father of rock ‘n’ roll” – these boys were Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis. And on one extraordinary night all four of them played together for the first and only time in their careers.

This momentous event in music history is the inspiration behind this acclaimed new musical that features over 20 of the greatest songs ever written – from Blue Suede Shoes to Walk The Line.

ENDORSEMENTS FROM EDUCATORS

Million Dollar Quartet was a fantastic experience for me and my students. The music and musicianship were amazing, and the story really informative and engaging. The show gives a brilliant insight into the lives of these four music icons, giving a real flavour of the history and roots of rock ‘n’ roll music.”
Claire Hodge, Head of Drama, Greenshaw High School, London

Million Dollar Quartet is a fantastic show bringing great names of the past back to life in an exhilarating and upbeat fashion. Combining the best of live performance with the most memorable of music, this show is a must on any to do list. Although the show is particularly relevant for those students studying the Blues or songwriting, it is relevant for all age groups and will inspire those lucky enough to see it.”
Simon Appleman, Assistant Headteacher, JFS School

“There is a great deal of useful material here for students at both KS3 and 4 in Music. They would certainly learn a lot from watching the live performance. A lot of the music would fit in very well with the standard blues projects included by most of us at KS3 and could lead on to some great opportunities for composition starting points. It would also be a very good production to use as part of one of the Arts Award Bronze challenges.”
Barbara Houghton, Teacher
