Soccer – Fernandes keeps faith with under-fire Redknapp

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes has backed Harry Redknapp to eventually Dominoqq guide the club back to the Premier League. After a run of just one win in their last seven Championship matches, QPR are ten points adrift of an automatic promotion spot and are 9/4 with bet365 to be promoted this season. Some fans have called for Redknapp to be axed, but Fernandes has issued the veteran manager a vote of confidence. He tweeted: “Nothing wrong with Harry. Team playing hard. Some defensive lapses. Need to tighten up. And of course score goals. Playing much better. “Takes time to rebuild. May take years to get it right. There was little to build on. Give support to team.” QPR face Yeovil Town this weekend and can be backed at 15/2 to win the match 2-1.

Soccer – Van Persie insists he’s happy at Old Trafford

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has hit back at his critics who have suggested he is angling for a move away from Old Trafford by insisting he is happy to stay at the club. The Netherlands international is adamant that he has not fallen out with United boss David Moyes and says he would be willing to extend his contract. Despite struggling with a succession of niggling injuries this term, the 30-year-old former Arsenal star has scored 14 goals in 23 appearances, and said: “The truth is I’m very happy here at this club. I signed for four years and I’d be delighted to stay even longer, beyond the next two years I have left on my contract. “This is how I feel, although it’s not what has been suggested in the media.” United entertain Liverpool on Sunday and can be backed at 9/1 with bet365 to beat Brendan Rodgers’ title-chasing side 2-1, with Van Persie available at 9/2 to open the scoring at Old Trafford.
